    • Multicolor – 1½ oz, 75 yd (45 g, 69 m) (Sugar ‘n Cream – White, Country Stripes)
  • Crochet Hook: Size H-8 (5.00 mm)
  • Gauge: 6 sc = 2″, 3 pattern rows = 2″.

Joining with Single Crochet

When instructed to join with sc, begin with a slip knot on hook, insert hook in stitch or space indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

Special Stitches

Popcorn (pc)

Work 5 dc, drop hook from last dc, insert hook into first and last dc, yarn over, pull through all loops on hook.

Note: Color changes made on the turning chain.

Dishcloth Instructions

Row 1

(Right Side) With White, ch 26, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [sc in next ch] across. (25 sc)

Row 2

Ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first sc, skip next 2 sc, [sc in next sc, skip next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc] 3 times, sc in next sc, skip next 2 sc, 3 dc in last sc. Change color to Multicolor.

Row 3

With Multicolor, ch 1, turn, sc in first dc, [skip next dc, 2 dc in next dc, pc in next sc, 2 dc in next dc, skip next dc, sc in next dc] across. Change to White.

Row 4

With White, ch 3, turn, 2 dc in first sc, [skip next 2 dc, sc in top of next pc, skip next 2 dc, 5 dc in next sc] across, ending with 3 dc in last sc. Change color to Multicolor.

Rows 5-14

Repeat Rows 3-4 five times.

Row 15

Repeat Row 3.

Row 16

With White, ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, [sc in next 2 dc, sc in next pc, sc in next 2 dc, sc in next sc] across. (25 sc) DO NOT FINISH OFF.

Edging Instructions

Round 1

Ch 1, turn, (right side facing), 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 23 sc, 3 sc in next sc, * working in sides of rows, work 1 sc in each sc row and work 2 sc in the end of each dc row *; working in unused loops of starting chain, 3 sc in first ch, sc in next 23 ch, 3 sc in last ch; repeat from * to *; join with sl st to first sc.

Round 2

Ch 1, DO NOT TURN, sc in the same stitch as joining, ch 3, skip next sc, [sc in next sc, ch 3, skip next sc] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off White and weave in ends.

Round 3

With right side facing, join Multicolor with sc in any skipped sc, ch 3, alternating working in front and behind ch-3 loops of the previous round, [sc in next skipped sc, ch 3] around; join with sl st to first sc. Finish off and weave in ends.
