You’ll Need:

750g of blue Husky yarn (50% wool, 50% polyacryl; 50m/50g);

Knitting needles 10 and 12;

Circular knitting needles 10 and 12;

7 buttons.

Size:

S-M.

Used Patterns

Rib 1:

* 1 knit st, 2 purls, 1 knit st*. Make WS rows as sts face.

Rib 2:

Start with 1 WS row. * 2 purls, 1 knit st*; repeat from * to *, 2 purls.

Make RS rows as sts face.

Persian Pattern:

The quantity of sts is multiple 4 + 2 selvage sts.

1st and 3rd rows (RS): purl;

2nd row: * make 1 knit st, 1 purl, 1 knit st, purl3tog from 1 st*; repeat from * to *;

4th row: 1 selvage st, * purl3tog, make 1 knit st, 1 purl, 1 knit st from 1 st*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st.

Repeat 1st-4th rows.

Stitches Control:

9.5 sts x 11.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back:

Cast on 50 sts with knitting needles 10 and make 9 cm = 11 rows of rib 1 for placket, starting with the 1st WS row, increase 4 sts in the last row = 54 sts. Change to knitting needles 12 and work with Persian pattern. In 28 cm = 32 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 46 sts. In 45 cm = 52 rows from placket, bind off all sts. The central 16 sts form neck-hole, outer 15 sts – sleeves.

Left Front:

Cast on 23 sts with knitting needles 10 and make 9 cm = 11 rows of rib 1, starting with 1 WS row and 1 selvage st and 2 purls, increase 3 sts in the last row = 26 sts. Change to knitting needles 12 and work with Persian pattern. Make arm-hole from the right side in the same way as for back = 22 sts. In 38 cm = 44 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 3 sts from the left side for neck-hole and 1 x 2 sts, 2 x 1 st in every 2nd row. Bind off the rest 15 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

Right Front:

Make in symmetry to left front.

Sleeves:

Cast on 22 sts with knitting needles 10 and make 7 cm = 9 rows of rib 1 for placket, increase 4 sts in the last row = 26 sts. Change to knitting needles 12 and work with Persian pattern. For chamfers, increase 3 x 1 st from both sides in every 14th row, include increased sts in pattern = 32 sts. In 45 cm = 52 rows from placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. For plackets, cast on 40 sts along edges of front with circular knitting needles 10 and work with rib 1, starting with the 1st WS row, 1 selvage st and 2 purls. In the 4th row (RS) make 5 button-holes. For collar, cast on 17 sts along edges of front with circular knitting needles 10, cast on 12 sts along back = 46 sts and work with rib 2. Make 1 cross knit st from across the thread of yarn after the 4th st and after the 6th row x 6 times in the 5th (WS) row. Make increased sts in the next WS row. Then, make 1 cross knit st from across the thread of yarn after the 7th st in the 7th row. At 22 cm height of collar, bind off all sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and collar seams. Sew buttons.
