Complete Knitting Instructions for a 100% Silk Sweater

You’ll Need:

250 (300) 350g of pink 100% silk yarn (165m/50g);

Knitting needles size 4;

Circular knitting needles.

Size:

S (M) L.

Used Patterns:

1 x 1 Rib

Holes pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 6 + 3 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 1, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st.

Relief Pattern

The quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as purls. Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat the 1^st-10^th rows.

Patterns Order A:

15 cm = 36 rows with holes pattern, 12.5 cm = 30 rows with relief pattern, 15 cm = 36 rows with holes pattern = 42.5 cm and 102 rows;

Patterns Order B:

7.5 cm = 18 rows with holes pattern, 8.5 cm = 20 rows with relief pattern, 7.5 cm = 18 rows with holes pattern = 23.5 cm and 56 rows.

Stitches Control:

20.5 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 131 (143) 155 sts and make 4 cm with 1 x 1 rib for lower placket. Then, continue work with patterns order A. For arm-holes, at 23 cm = 58 rows (21.5 cm = 52 rows) 19 cm = 46 rows from lower placket, bind off 1 x 9 sts from both sides from lower placket = 113 (125) 137 sts. For neck-hole, bind off the central 51 (57) 63 sts in 40 cm = 96 rows from lower placket and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards. In 42.5 cm = 102 rows from lower placket, bind off the rest 29 (32) 35 sts of each shoulder.

Front:

Make in the same way as back. At 35 cm = 84 rows from lower placket, bind off the central 39 (45) 51 sts, then bind off 3 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from inwards.

Sleeves:

Cast on 71 (77) 83 sts for each sleeve and make 4 cm with 1 x 1 rib for lower placket. Then, continue work according to patterns order B. At the same time, increase 4 x 1 st in every 8^th row from lower placket (6 x 1 st in every 6^th row) and 8 x 1 st in every 4^th row due to the pattern = 79 (89) 99 sts. In 23.5 cm = 56 rows from lower placket, bind off all the sts.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 142 (154) 166 sts along the neck-hole with circular knitting needles and work with 1 x 1 rib with circle rows for the neck-hole placket. In 2 cm, bind off all the sts according to the pattern. Sew up the sleeves and make side and sleeve seams.
