Crochet Baby Trunks with Smiles

You’ll Need
50g of blue 100% mercerized cotton yarn (330m/100g);
Odds of yellow and black yarn;
Crochet hook 1.6.
Size
8 – 12 months.
Instructions
Make 76 chain sts and circle them in a ring. Make 1 row of double crochets and 1 row of net (* 1 double crochet, 1 chain st, skip 1 chain st* repeat from * to *). Then, make 4 cm of double crochets, making the first 2 rows from the back side with treble crochets for a larger size of the back part. After that, make 1 row of net and 5-6 cm of double crochets.
Then, divide your work into 2 parts and finish each part separately, don’t finish 2 crochets at the beginning and end of every row. Make 6 cm this way; the stripe of 4 cm wide should be left. Make the second half in symmetry.
Assembly
Connect the details with single crochets. Fasten the holes for legs with 2 rows of double crochets and 1 row of single crochets with yellow yarn. Fasten the upper edge of trunks with single crochets and yellow yarn. Make cords of chain sts with yellow yarn and insert them into the rows of net.
Smiles
Make 2 circles with single crochets using yellow yarn with a 2.5 cm radius. Embroider smiles onto the circles. Sew them to the back part of the trunks, as shown in the photo.
