You'll Need:

400g of mixed yarn (50% cotton, 50% polyacryl; 600m/100g) - the yarn should be folded in two;
Knitting needles (straight and circular) size 2.5.

The main ornament used is stockinette stitch. For plackets and cuffs, use a 2 x 2 rib.

Stitches control: 27 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 90 sts with brown yarn and knit 10 cm with 2 x 2 rib. Then, continue working with blue yarn to a length of 20 cm. At this point, create a fancy paw ornament according to scheme 1 using brown yarn.

Simultaneously, at 23 cm, bind off the sts to form arm-holes. Bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, and 1 x 1 st from both sides in a row. Afterwards, knit straight without any increases or decreases. When the length reaches 37 cm, bind off the central 22 sts for the neck hole, then knit both parts of the back separately. Bind off 2 x 2 sts in a row to round the neck hole. Finally, bind off the remaining sts of the shoulders at 39 cm.

Front

Begin with the left front. Cast on 42 sts and knit 10 rows in rib. After that, switch to blue yarn, knitting 23 cm before starting the ornament according to scheme 2.
At this height, bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, and 1 x 1 st from the right side to create the arm-hole for the left front. Simultaneously, create the neck-hole chamfer by binding off 1 st 12 times every 4th row. Knit to 39 cm, then bind off the last sts of the row. The right front is made symmetrically to the left, but without the fancy pattern.

Sleeves

Cast on 50 sts with brown yarn and knit 10 rows of 2 x 2 rib for one sleeve. Then, switch to blue yarn and knit straight with stockinette stitch, making increases for sleeve chamfers from both sides. Increase 1 st 10 times every 8th row. At a height of 25 cm, bind off the sts for forming the sleeve head. Bind off 1 x 3 sts, 1 x 2 sts, and 13 x 1 st from both sides in a row. Then, bind off 3 sts once, 5 sts once, and 7 sts once.

Assembly

Join shoulder seams, sew the sleeves in place, and then complete the side and sleeve seams. To form the placket and cuffs, cast on sts along the edges of the front and neck hole, and knit 10 rows in rib with brown yarn. While knitting the left front, be sure to create holes for buttons: bind off the 13th, 14th, and 15th sts in the 4th row of the placket. In the 5th row, cast on 3 sts above the bound ones. Lastly, sew 4 buttons onto the right front.
