Crochet Hat Pattern for 3-4 Month Old Babies

You’ll Need:
50g of pink Island yarn (100% cotton; 125m/50g);
50g of the same yarn, but in white color;
Crochet hook size 3.
Size:
3-4 months.
Note:
Make slip stitches tighter, chain stitches looser. Finish every circle row with a chain stitch in order to avoid incidents with color changes. Insert the crochet hook through the back loop and make a slip stitch and chain stitch with the new color yarn when changing colors.
Instructions:
Make 4 chain stitches with pink yarn and create a slip stitch in the 1st chain stitch to form a ring. Then, make 1 chain stitch to start the 1st circle row.
Row Instructions:
1st row, white yarn: 12 half-crochets in the ring;
2nd row, pink yarn: double the quantity of half-crochets by making 2 half-crochets from every half-crochet (total 24 stitches);
3rd row, white yarn: 1 half crochet, 2 half-crochets from 1 half crochet (total 36 stitches);
4th row, pink yarn: 2 half-crochets, 2 half-crochets from 1 half crochet (total 48 stitches);
Further Rows:
5th-13th rows: work with double crochets, inserting the crochet hook between double crochets of the previous row, alternating 1 white row and 1 pink row = 48 stitches;
Final Row:
14th row: work with “shrimp stitch” using pink yarn on the wrong side.
Completion:
Finish your work and make one flower of each color in any design. Sew them onto the hat for a decorative touch.
