Assembly

The bag top will be folded over to the inside at Round 41, and sewn down at Round 49, but assemble in this order:

  1. Use stitch markers to determine handle placement on Round 40.
  2. Braid the loops in Round 37. Line up the first/last loop with one of the handle's stitch markers. Use a stitch marker similar to hold the last loop down in place.
  3. Sew one short end of each tab to Round 49 at markers, so that they are lined up and on the inside of the bag. Add fabric lining if desired (not shown).

4. Fold Rounds 42-49 to inside of bag, and sew down. When you come to a tab, insert the tab in the handle's ring, and then sew the other end of the tab down as you go.

5. On the outside of the bag, opposite the tabs, in Round 37 (already braided), sew buttons. If you are using just 1 button, sew it down where the first/last loops of the braid are, to secure those loops.
