You’ll Need:

200g of 100% cotton thick yarn in white color;

Crochet hook size 4.

Size:

Fits children aged 7-9 years.

Instructions

Irish Rose

Make the ring and 1 single crochet in it (see the picture below).

1st row: 1 chain stitch increase, 17 single crochets, 1 slip stitch. Finish all rows with a slip stitch;

2nd row: *1 single crochet, 3 chain stitches, skip 2 base stitches*; repeat from * to * five times;

3rd row: 1 single crochet above every arch of chain stitches from the lower row, 5 double crochets through the back half-loop, and 1 single crochet;

4th row: Turn down the petals of the lower row and make 1 single crochet and 5 chain stitches between 2 single crochets to divide the petals from the previous row. Continue this way until the end of the row;

5th row: 1 single crochet in every arch of chain stitches, 7 double crochets through the back half-loop, and 1 single crochet;

6th row: Turn down the petals of the lower row and make 1 single crochet and 7 chain stitches between 2 single crochets to divide the petals from the previous row. Continue this way until the end of the row;

7th row: 1 single crochet, 9 double crochets through back half-loops, and 1 single crochet in every arch of chain stitches from the lower row.

Leaf

Make 10 chain stitches.

1st row: 3 chain stitches increase, 5 double crochets through back half-loop, 2 half crochets, 1 single crochet, and 3 single crochets in the last stitch. Turn your work, (1 single crochet, 2 half-crochets, and 6 double crochets through back half-loop) in the same chain.

Hat

1st row: make 6 chain stitches and circle them in a ring with 1 slip stitch. Circle all following rows with slip stitch;

2nd row: 1 chain stitch increase and 11 single crochets;

3rd row: 3 chain stitches increase, 23 double crochets through back half-loop (2 stitches in 1 base stitch);

4th row: 3 chain stitches increase, add 12 stitches (36 stitches in a row);

5th row: add 30 double crochets through back half-loop (66 stitches);

6th-8th rows: increase 10 stitches (at the end of the 8th row you should have 96 stitches);

9th row: single crochets without increases, catching only the back thread of the lower row loop.

10th-14th rows: double crochets through back half-loop;

15th-24th rows: single crochets, increasing 6 stitches in the 24th row;

25th row: relief crochets;

26th-29th rows: double crochets through back half-loop, increasing 10 stitches in each row (142 stitches in the 29th row);

30th-31st row: double crochets through back half-loop, increasing 1 stitch x 20 in each row;

32nd row: double crochets through back half-loop, increasing 30 stitches (totally, 212 stitches).

Sew the flap of the hat as shown in the picture. Sew the rose and leaf to the front part of the hat.
