Materials Needed

You'll need:

  • Schachenmayr Catania yarn of pink and grey color (100% mercerized cotton, 125m/50g) – 2 skeins of pink color and 1 skein of white color;
  • Crochet hook size 3.

Dimensions

Head circumference - 52 cm.

Main Pattern

Crochet the main pattern according to the scheme A.

Start each row with the stated quantity of chain stitches instead of the 1st single or double crochet. Make from the 1st to the 17th rows inclusive.

Control Stitches

Stitches control: 1 pattern repeat = 4.5 cm, 10.5 rows = 10 cm height.

Instructions

Crown

For each separate detail (4 pcs), the width of which is 13 cm, make 33 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase with pink yarn, and create the detail according to the scheme A. Start with 1 row of pink yarn, then make 2 rows with white yarn, and alternate with 2 rows of pink yarn, decreasing the quantity of stitches from both sides according to the scheme. After completing 17 rows of the scheme, finish the work and sew all 4 details together.

Flaps

Crochet along the edge of the crown with single crochets in circular rows with pink yarn. Start each new row with a 1 chain stitch increase instead of 1 single crochet and finish with a 1 slip stitch chain stitch increase.

Make a setup chain stitch and 119 single crochets in the 1st circular row = 120 stitches.

Then, make 10 x 2 single crochets in 1 chain stitch every 2nd row for a total of 5 times = 170 stitches.

After completing 12 circular rows = 5 cm of work, finish making the flaps.

Flower

Make the flower according to the scheme B, starting with an initial chain and the 1st circular row with pink yarn, followed by the 2nd row with white yarn. Arrows on the scheme show the direction of work.

Sew the flower to your hat.
