- Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook
- Medium weight cotton yarn (size 4), I used Crafters Secret Cotton in “Iced Mint”. Two 2 oz. skeins yields 7 coasters
- Blunt needle
Abbreviations:
- hk - hook
- ch - chain
- st(s) - stitch(es)
- sc - single crochet
- hslst - half double crochet slip stitch
- sl st - slip stitch
Special Stitches:
hslst - half double crochet slip stitch:
Yarn over, insert your hook into the next st, yarn over and pull through the stitch and the 2 loops on your hook.
Pattern:
With 2 strands together, make a magic circle and ch 2.
Hslst 8 into the circle and pull to close, sl st in first st (8).
Round 1: Ch 2, 2 hslst in each st around, sl st to join (16).
Round 2: Ch 2, *2 hslst, hslst,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (24).
Round 3: Ch 2, *2 hslst, hslst next 2 sts,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (32).
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in each st around, sl st to join (32).
Fasten off, weave in ends.
