Materials

Crochet hook 3.5 mm

Caron, Simply Soft (4) – 100% acrylic, 288 meter per 170 grams skein or any other type of yarn. Color A: pink, color B: white

Diameter: 15 cm (6”)

Common Abbreviations of Crochet Stitches

• ch – chain

• sc – single crochet

• sl st – slip stitch

• yo – yarn over

• dc – double crochet

• hdc – half double crochet

• tr – treble crochet

Popcorn stitch – make 5 DC into one stitch, remove the hook, and insert into the first DC stitch. After that draw working loop through the first DC on your hook. Pull tight.

Flower Coaster Crochet Pattern

Starting with Color A (pink): Make a magic ring. Ch 3 (count as 1 DC), 11 DC inside magic ring, sl st to top of starting ch3. Cut the yarn.

Change to white color and attach it between 2 DC.

Round 2: ch3 (count as 1 DC), DC in the same place. 2 DC between stitches around. Sl st to top of starting ch3 (24 DC)

Round 3: sl st between next two stitches, sl st between next two stitches. Go on working between stitches. Ch3 (count as 1 DC), 2 DC in the same space, *skip next 2 stitches, 3 DC. Repeat from * around. Sl st to top of starting ch3 (36 DC).

Cut the yarn and weave in ends.

Change to pink color. Attach yarn between DC groups. Go on working between stitches.

Round 4: ch8, skip next 3 stitches, *DC, ch5, skip next 3 stitches – repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (12 ch-5 spaces)

Round 5: ch3, 9 DC in ch-5 space. Rotate the coaster ninety degrees to the right and work around the next DC: 5 DC. Sl st into the next DC. Ch5, turn, sc around the previous DC (in the corner between 9 DC and 5 DC), turn. Repeat from the beginning around. Join with sl st. Cut the yarn leaving a short tail, ch5 and sl st in ch-5 space.

Change to white color. Attach it to ch-5 space.

Round 6: *ch3, popcorn stitch in ch-5 space, ch5, sl st in next ch-5 space; repeat from * around.

Cut the yarn and weave in ends.
