Materials Required
For this project you will need:
- HOOK: 4 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: two colors skeins of worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
- You’ll also need a Tapestry Needle to hide your tails.
Abbreviations
- ch = Chain
- sl st = Slip Stitch
- st = Stitch
- sk a st = Skip a stitch
- beg = beginning
- YO = Yarn Over
- FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet
- DC = Double Crochet
- Double Crochet attachment
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.
Instructions
Round 1
Ch 3, DC 11 in 3rd ch from the hook. The ch 2 counts as a st. sl st in beg ch 2 to end round. (12 sts)
Round 2
Ch 2 and DC into same st. DC 2 in all stitches to increase your sts to 24 total. sl st in beg ch 2 to end round.
Round 3
Ch 2. FPDC onto the post of the ch 2 from previous round. * Sk a st and dc 3, ch 1, dc 3 all into the next st. sk a st then FPDC onto the post of the next st. *
Repeat for the round. sl st in beg ch 2 to end round.
Round 4
Ch 2. FPDC onto the post of your first FPDC of the round. * Skip over 3 DC’s to reach your corner and Dc 4, ch 1, Dc 4 all into the corner ch 1 space. Skip the 3 DC’s after your corner and FPDC onto the next FPDC *
Repeat for the round. sl st in beg FPDC to end round. Ch 1, cut yarn.
