Choose your favorite colors and yarn types to personalize your creation. Crocheting a blanket allows you to add intricate details and unique designs that will make it a one-of-a-kind piece. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced crocheter, making a blanket can be a rewarding and enjoyable project. Handmade blankets make wonderful gifts for loved ones or can be a special addition to your own home decor. Crocheting a blanket is a relaxing and fulfilling activity that results in a timeless and cherished item.

Materials:

  • Size 3 yarn (2 strands held together), you can use a size 4 medium weight yarn or bulky yarn, just be sure to check your gauge. I used Yarn Bee Sugar wheel Cotton in “City Beat”, 7 skeins total (approx. 35 ounces/994 grams/2345 yards/2142 meters)
  • Size H, 5.00 mm crochet hook
  • Tapestry needle

Gauge:

12 sts X 6 rows of pattern = 4″ square

Multiples:

Multiples of 6

Final Measurement:

45″ X 45″

Note:

You can make your blanket larger or smaller by adding more or less chains at the beginning and follow the multiples/gauge/amount of yarn needed.

Pattern:

Ch 144

Row 1: Dc in the 3rd ch from the hk and each st across, turn (143).

Row 2: Ch 2, *dc in the blo in the next 4 sts, ch 2, sk next 2 sts,* repeat from * to end, turn (143).

Row 3: Ch 2, *dc in the flo in the next 4 sts, 2 dc in ch 2 sp,* repeat from * to end, turn (143).

Repeat rows 2 and 3 for a total of 67 rows, ending with row 3.

Fasten off, weave in ends.

Your blanket will measure approx. 45″ X 45″.
