Complete Knitting Instructions for a Turquoise and Green Sweater

You’ll Need:

250 (300)g of turquoise Mystik yarn (54% cotton, 46% viscose; 110m/50g);

200 (250)g of green Linova yarn (74% cotton, 26% linen; 100m/50g);

Knitting needles size 7.

Note:

Work in 2 threads of yarn - 1 thread of turquoise and 1 thread of green yarn.

Relief Pattern:

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 7 + 2 selvage stitches. Start and finish every row with 1 selvage stitch.

• 1^st and 5^th rows: * 2 purls, 3 knit stitches, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *;
• 2^nd and all WS rows: Due to the ornament, yarn overs – as purls;
• 3^rd row: * 2 purls, 1 broaching (slip 1 knit stitch, 1 knit stitch, draw it through the slipped stitch), 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *;
• 7^th row: * 2 purls, 1 yarn over, 1 broaching, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 1^st-8^th rows.

Rib:

The quantity of stitches is a multiple of 6 + 1 + 2 selvage stitches.

• RS row: * 2 purls, 3 knit stitches, 1 purl*; repeat from * to *, then add 1 purl.
• WS row: Due to the ornament.

Decrease 1 stitch: from the right side: 1 selvage stitch, 3 knit stitches, knit2tog/purl2tog; From the left side: 1 broaching, 3 knit stitches, 1 selvage stitch.

Stitches Control:

• Relief Pattern: 12 stitches x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
• Rib: 12.5 stitches x 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back/Front:

Cast on 72 (79) stitches and make 1 WS row of purls (don’t take this row into account). Then, work with relief pattern. In 24.5 cm from the set-up row, make purl2tog between the stripes of relief pattern in the 1^st, 3^rd, 5^th, 7^th and 9^th stripes for better fitting = 64 (74) stitches. Repeat these decreases in 29 cm from the set-up row in the rest stripes of purls = 63 (69) stitches. In 32 (32.5) cm from the set-up row, work with rib with 2 threads of turquoise yarn. In 41 (42.5) cm from the set-up row, bind off 2 stitches for arm-holes from both sides, then, 6 x 1 stitch in every 2^nd row, decrease 1 stitch = 47 (53) stitches. In 48 (50.5) cm from the set-up row, bind off the central 13 (19) stitches for the neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 6 x 1 stitch in every 2^nd row, decrease 1 stitch. In 59 (61.5) cm from the set-up row, bind off the rest 11 stitches.
