You’ll Need:
400 (450) 500g of apple-green yarn (96% cotton, 4% polyester; 160m/50g);
Knitting needles 3 and 4;
Circular knitting needles 3.
Size:
S (M) L.
Used Patterns:
- 1 x 1 rib;
- Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;
- Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 24 + 1. Work according to scheme 1, on which RS and partially WS rows are stated. Make unstated WS rows as sts face, yarn over – as purls. Repeat the pattern; finish with st after pattern repeat. Make 1st-20th rows x 4 times, then, make 21st-54th rows x twice, and finish with 55th-72nd rows = totally, 166 rows.
- Relief stripes: the quantity of sts is multiple 11 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 2, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as sts face, yarn overs – as purls. Repeat the pattern between selvage sts. Repeat 1st-4th rows.
Stitches Control:
Wrong-side and relief patterns: 24 sts x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Relief stripes pattern: 24.5 sts x 30.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions:
Back
Cast on 111 (123) 135 sts with knitting needles 3 and make 6 cm of 1 x 1 rib for placket. Continue work with knitting needles 4 in the following way: 1 selvage st, 6 (12) 6 sts with wrong-side pattern, 97 (97) 121 sts with relief pattern, 6 (12) 6 sts with wrong-side pattern, 1 selvage st. In 34.5 cm = 114 rows (32.5 cm = 108 rows) 31 cm = 102 rows from placket, bind off 1 x 6 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 99 (111) 123 sts. In 50.5 cm = 166 rows from placket, bind off all the sts, the central 59 sts form neck-hole, outer 20 (26) 32 sts – shoulders.
Front
Make in the same way as back; bind off the central 49 sts for neck-hole in 47.5 cm = 156 rows from placket and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. Bind off the rest 20 (26) 32 sts of shoulders at the height of back.
Sleeves
Cast on 57 (63) 67 sts with knitting needles 3 for each sleeve and make 6 cm of 1 x 1 rib for placket, increase 1 st in the last WS row for size L = 57 (63) 68 sts. Continue work with relief stripes pattern with knitting needles 4. For size M, start with 1 selvage st and the last 3 sts of pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with the first 3 sts of pattern repeat, and 1 selvage st. In 11 cm = 34 rows from placket, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides for sleeve chamfers, then, 10 x 1 st in every 8th row (11 x 1 st in every 6th and 8th rows by turn) and 13 x 1 st in every 6th row as sts face = 79 (87) 96 sts. In 42 cm = 128 rows from placket, bind off all the sts.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams. For placket, cast on 94 sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make 6 circle rows of knit sts. Then, bind off all the sts as knit sts. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
