How to Crochet a Stylish Rug and Seat Cover with Cotton Yarn

You’ll need:

100g of white 100% cotton yarn (140m/50g);

100g of the same yarn, but in green color;

Crochet hook 4.

Note: Work in 2 threads of yarn.

Instructions

Rug

Make 42 chain stitches.

1^st row: 7 green double crochets, 7 white double crochets, then alternate 7 double crochets of each color to get 6 stripes;

2^nd row: 6 white double crochets, 7 green double crochets, 7 white double crochets, finish the row with 1 white double crochet.

Then, continue working, paying attention to the colors. Finish the square after the 22^nd row, fastening your work with single crochets using green yarn. Make 12 chain stitches, then cut the yarn.

Fastening with white yarn: join the yarn to the neighboring corner of the extra chain of 12 chain stitches, make 12 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches increase (see scheme 1).

Fastening with green yarn: according to scheme 1 of making edges and corners. Make 6 double crochets under every arch of 2 chain stitches;

2^nd row: 6 double crochets with a common top with 7 chain stitches between them;

3^rd row: (3 double crochets, 2 picots, 3 double crochets) under every arch of chain stitches. Make 2 double crochets with a common top above a group of 6 crochets. Fasten the inner side according to scheme 2.

Seat Cover

Make 28 chain stitches with white yarn.

1^st row: 3 white double crochets, 7 green double crochets, 7 white double crochets, 7 green double crochets, 6 white double crochets. Make increases from both sides = 30 stitches;

2^nd row: 1 green double crochet, 7 white double crochets, 7 green double crochets, 7 white double crochets, 7 green double crochets, 3 white double crochets. Make increases from both sides = 32 stitches.

Then, work with stripes replacing across.

Make increases in the 3^rd and 4^th rows. Crochet straight from the 5^th to the 13^th rows. Make decreases from both sides, starting with the 14^th row. Finish the detail after the 21^st row.

Fasten your work with green single crochets. Make fastening with white color in the same way as for the rug. Make fastening with green color according to scheme 2.
