Pattern Instructions
Please note: place a stitch marker at the end of the first round so you know where the rounds begin and end.
Make a 4 chain and join with a slip stitch in the first chain to form a ring.
Round Instructions
- Round 1: (RS) – 1 chain; 8 single crochet in ring (8 stitches) PM.
- Round 2: 2 single crochet in each single crochet. (16 stitches)
- Round 3: *1 single crochet in next single crochet, 2 single crochet in next single crochet* repeat from * to end. (24 stitches)
- Round 4: 1 single crochet in each single crochet.
- Round 5: *1 single crochet in next single crochet, 2 single crochet in next single crochet* repeat from * to end. (36 stitches)
- Round 6: 1 single crochet in each single crochet.
- Round 7: 1 single crochet in each single crochet.
- Round 8: single crochet into the back loop of every stitch.
- Rounds 9-18: single crochet into every stitch.
*Please note: You can work more rounds if you want your basket to be taller. - Place markers where you want the handles to start and finish so that you can count out your stitches.
- Round 19: single crochet 6, skip 6 stitches, chain 10, single crochet into 12 stitches, skip 6 stitches, chain 10, single crochet into 6 stitches.
- Round 20: single crochet into every stitch, 10 single crochet over each chain section for the handles, single crochet to the marker.
- Round 21: repeat round 20.
- Finish with a slip stitch and weave in any loose ends.
