Instructions
Make 50 chain stitches, double crochet in the 5th stitch from the crochet hook. Create 5 double crochets in the same stitch from the crochet hook, then 1 double crochet in the next stitch (selvedge) stitch. Make 6 double crochets in the selvedge stitch = 102 double crochets and 2 selvedge stitches with 6 double crochets.
Make 3 chain stitches to increase, 2 stitches in each of the 6 double crochets = 12 double crochets in the selvedge stitch. Then, make 1 chain stitch, skip 1 stitch, and create 3 double crochets with a common top. Continue working in this manner to the end of the row. Create 6 double crochets – 2 double crochets in each stitch. Make 3 double crochets with a common top to the end of the row, skip 1 stitch, and 1 slip stitch in the 3rd stitch from the 3 chain stitches.
1 double crochet in the corner in every stitch, 2 unfinished double crochets in the next stitch, i.e., with a common top, and 2 chain stitches between the groups of 3 double crochets.
As a result, you should get 6 groups of 3 double crochets, totaling 18 double crochets and 6 arches of 2 chain stitches.
3 unfinished double crochets in the arch of chain stitches from the previous row, and 1 chain stitch between the groups of 3 double crochets. Make an oval turn from the opposite end similarly to the previous one, finishing with 1 slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch increase.
4 chain stitches increase, followed by 1 double crochet, 1 chain stitch, and 1 double crochet in the arch of 2 chain stitches from the previous row. Repeat this in the next 5 arches: 3 double crochets and 1 chain stitch between them.
After making the oval turn, make 1 double crochet in every arch of 1 chain stitch, followed by 1 chain stitch and 1 double crochet.
From the opposite side: 1 double crochet, 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet, 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet in the arch of 2 chain stitches from the previous row, and 3 double crochets with 1 chain stitch between them in the next 6 arches.
Then, make 1 double crochet, 1 chain stitch, and 1 double crochet in every arch of 1 chain stitch.
Before starting the oval turn after each “V”, make 1 chain stitch, 1 double crochet, and 1 slip stitch in 3 chain stitches increase.
