Crochet Pattern for a Colorful Blanket

You’ll Need
1 skein of fuschia, orange, yellow, green and turquoise yarn (each) (50% cotton, 50% polyester; 72m/200g);
Crochet hook 12.
Size
90 x 57 cm.
Tension
6 sts x 6 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Used Patterns
Work with straight and reversed rows, start each row with 1 chain st instead of 1 single crochet or 3 chain sts instead of 1 double crochet.
- 1st row (orange yarn): single crochets;
- 2nd row (yellow yarn): double crochets;
- 3rd row (fuschia yarn): single crochets;
- 4th row (orange yarn): double crochets;
- 5th row (turquoise yarn): single crochets;
- 6th row (fuschia yarn): double crochets;
- 7th row (green yarn): single crochets;
- 8th row (turquoise yarn): double crochets;
- 9th row (yellow yarn): single crochets;
- 10th row (green yarn): double crochets.
Repeat 1st-10th rows.
Instructions
Make 54 chain sts with orange yarn, then turn to the stripes pattern, leaving a thread about 12 cm long at the end of every row for tassels. Repeat the stripes pattern to the end of the yarn, then fix it and make a knot at the end of the tassels.

I haven’t seen it in years, but it looks like jersey material. If you ever made a woven potholder with jersey loopers, you’re already familiar with the fabric. It can be — or used to be — put up in skeins. However, any thick yarn would do. #12 hook is metric — think the size of your index finger.
