How to Knit a Stylish Top with Mint Volo Yarn

You’ll Need:

150g of mint Volo yarn (60% cotton, 40% polyamide; 200m/50g);

Knitting needles 5.5mm and 12mm.

Stitches Control:

Stockinette stitch, knitting needles 12mm: 10.5 sts x 9.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Stockinette stitch, knitting needles 5.5mm: 16 sts x 24.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Order of Stockinette Stitch Stripes:

• 12 rows with knitting needles 12mm,
• 8 rows with knitting needles 5.5mm,
• 3 rows with knitting needles 12mm,
• 4 rows with knitting needles 5.5mm,
• 2 rows with knitting needles 12mm,
• 20 rows with knitting needles 5.5mm,
• 2 rows with knitting needles 12mm,
• 5 rows with knitting needles 5.5mm,
• 16 rows with knitting needles 12mm = totally, 72 rows.

Instructions

Back/Front

Cast on 82 sts with knitting needles 5.5mm and make 3 cm of garter stitch for placket. Then, decrease 27 sts in every 1st row with knitting needles 12mm to get to 55 sts, and then increase them again with knitting needles 5.5mm to return to 82 sts. In 51.5 cm = 72 rows from placket, make 1 cm of garter stitch with knitting needles 5.5mm, then decrease 27 sts in the 1st row to reach 55 sts. Finally, bind off sts as knit sts.

Sleeves

Cast on 44 sts with knitting needles 5.5mm and make 3 cm of garter stitch for placket. Then, switch to knitting needles 12mm and work with stockinette stitch, decreasing 10 sts in the 1st row to arrive at 34 sts. At the same time from placket, increase 4 x 1 st in every 6th row from both sides for sleeve chamfers to end up with 42 sts. In 29.5 cm = 28 rows from placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams on the outer 16 cm. Sew up the sleeves and complete the side and sleeve seams.
