How to Knit a Mint Yarn Sweater with Relief Pattern


You’ll Need:
175 (200) 200 (225) g of mint yarn (25% wool, 20% mohair, 20% polyamide, 20% polyacryl, 15% camel wool; 137m/25g);
Knitting needles 8 or 9.
Size:
M (L) XL (XXL).Used Patterns
- 2 x 2 rib;
- Relief pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 3 + 4 + 2 selvage sts.
Row Instructions:
- 1st row (WS): purl;
- 2nd row: 1 knit st, * 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, then, draw the 1st st out of 3 sts through the next 2 sts*; repeat from * to *;
- 3rd row: purl;
- 4th row: * 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, then, draw the 1st st out of 3 sts in next 2 sts*; repeat from * to *, 1 knit st;
- 5th row: purl;
- 6th row: 2 knit sts, * 1 yarn over, 3 knit sts, then, draw the 1st st out of 3 sts in 2 next sts*; repeat from * to *, 1 yarn over, knit 2 together;
- 7th row: purl.
Repeat 2nd to 7th rows.
Stitches Control:
10 sts x 10 rows = 10 x 10 cm.Instructions
Left Front
Cast on 26 (30) 30 (34) sts and work with 2 x 2 rib for 10 cm. Then, work with the relief pattern between selvage sts, increase 2 (0) 2 (0) sts in the 1st row = 28 (30) 32 (34) sts. In 51 (49) 47 (45) cm from placket, mark the beginning of the arm-hole on the right side. In 20 (22) 24 (26) cm from the mark for shoulder chamfer, bind off 4 sts, then bind off 6 x 4 sts (4 x 4 sts, 2 x 5 sts) 2 x 4 sts, and 4 x 5 sts (6 x 5 sts) in every 2nd row. In 14 cm from the beginning of shoulder chamfer, bind off sts.
Right Front
Make in symmetry to the left front.
Back
Cast on 72 (80) 80 (88) sts and work with 2 x 2 rib for 10 cm. Then, work with the relief pattern between selvage sts, increase 4 (0) 4 (0) sts in the 1st row = 76 (80) 84 (88) sts. In 51 (49) 47 (45) cm from placket, mark the beginning of arm-holes from both sides. In 20 (22) 24 (26) cm from marks, make shoulder chamfers in the same way as for the front, then bind off the remaining 20 sts.
Belt
Cast on 11 sts in 2 threads of yarn and work with 1 x 1 rib for 130 (140) 150 (160) cm.
Assembly
Make shoulder and side seams. Cast on 40 (44) 48 (52) sts along the edges of arm-holes and work with circular rows of 2 x 2 rib for 10 cm, then bind off all sts loosely. For the common placket of the front and neck-hole, cast on 210 sts and work with 1 x 1 rib for 10 cm, then bind off sts loosely. Step back 12 (10) 8 (6) cm from arm-holes on side seams and create belt loops of chain sts.
