Complete Guide to Knitting with Mint Volo Yarn

You’ll Need:

150g of mint Volo yarn (60% cotton, 40% polyamide; 200m/50g);

Knitting needles 5.5 and 12.

Garter Stitch:

Knit.

Stockinette Stitch:

In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Stripes of Stockinette Stitch Order:

• 12 rows with knitting needles 12
• 8 rows with knitting needles 5.5
• 3 rows with knitting needles 12
• 4 rows with knitting needles 5.5
• 2 rows with knitting needles 12
• 20 rows with knitting needles 5.5
• 2 rows of knitting needles 12
• 5 rows with knitting needles 5.5
• 16 rows with knitting needles 12

Total: 72 rows.

Stitches Control:

• Stockinette stitch, knitting needles 12: 10.5 sts x 9.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
• Stockinette stitch, knitting needles 5.5: 16 sts x 24.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Front/Back:

Cast on 82 sts with knitting needles 5.5 and make 3 cm of garter stitch for placket. Then, work according to the stripes order, decrease 27 sts in every 1st row with knitting needles 12 = 55 sts and increase them again in the 1st row with knitting needles 5.5 = 82 sts. In 51.5 cm = 72 rows from placket, make 1 cm of garter stitch with knitting needles 5.5, decrease 27 sts in the 1st row = 55 sts. Then, bind off all sts.

Sleeves:

Cast on 44 sts with knitting needles 5.5 and make 3 cm of garter stitch for placket. Then, turn to knitting needles 12 and work with stockinette stitch, decrease 10 sts in the 1st row = 34 sts. At the same time, increase 4 x 1 st of stockinette stitch from both sides in every 6th row = 42 sts. In 29.5 cm = 28 rows from placket, bind off all sts.

Assembly:

Make shoulder seams from each side on outer 16 cm. Sew up the sleeves, make side and sleeve seams.
