How to Knit a Beautiful Flower Bag

You’ll Need:

100g of mixed content yarn for the main parts;

50g of yarn for trimming;

Double pointed knitting needles 4;

Straight knitting needles 4.5 and 5;

Crochet hook 4.5;

Fabric for backing – 25 x 46 cm.

Size:

23.5 x 24 cm.

Used Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in right-side rows – knit sts, in wrong-side rows – purls, in circle rows – knit sts.

Stitches Control:

15 sts х 23 rows = 10 х 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 37 sts with knitting needles 5 and make 52 cm of stockinette stitch. Bind off the sts. For handles, cast on 9 sts with double pointed knitting needles and turn to circle knitting of stockinette stitch. Make 30 cm and bind off the sts.

Assembly

Make side seams from the wrong side. Make the backing and sew it up to the upper inner edge.

Decorations

Make the middle of the flower with the help of a crochet hook. Make 5 chain sts and circle them in a ring by means of slip st. Crochet in circle rows, starting each row with 3 chain sts increase instead of 1 double crochet, and finishing with 1 slip st in the chain st increase.

1^st row: 12 double crochets;

2^nd row: 2 double crochets in every crochet of the previous row.

Make the Petals

Make the petals of your flower with the help of knitting needles. Cast on 16 sts with knitting needles 4.5 and work according to the scheme:

1^st row: 16 knit sts;

2^nd row: bind off 3 sts, 13 knit sts;

3^rd row: 13 knit sts;

4^th row: bind off 9 sts, 4 knit sts;

5^th row: 4 knit sts, cast on 12 sts;

6^th row: 16 knit sts.

Repeat 1^st-6^th rows. Sew the petals to the middle part of the flower. Sew the flower to the bag.
