Materials

• Cotton worsted weight yarn (green and red)
• Brown embroidery floss
• Size "G" hook

Instructions

Body of the Apple

Row 1: With red, chain 10 and sc in second ch from hook and each sc across. (9 sc) Chain 1, turn.

Row 2: 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc across and 2 sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. (11 sc)

Row 3: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn (11 sc)

Rows 4-6: Repeat rows 2 and 3 ending up with 15 sc in last row (15 sc)

Rows 7-11: Sc in each sc, ch 1, turn.

Row 12: Sc first 2 sc together, sc across and sc last 2 sc together. Ch 1, turn (13 sc)

Rows 13-14: Repeat row 12 ending up with 9 sc.

Working around apple reverse sc all around. Join and finish off.

Stem

With embroidery floss (all 6 strands) attach to top of apple, 14 sc, join with a slip stitch at the beginning to form a loop. Finish off.

Leaf

With green, chain 7, sc in 2nd ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 2 ch, 5 dc in last ch. Working on the other side of ch, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch, slip st to first sc. Finish off.

Sew leaf to top of apple.
