Materials Needed

• H hook
• Worsted weight yarn of your choice

Special Stitches

Puff Stitch

YO insert hook in indicated st, YO, pull through (repeat 4 times). You will have 9 loops on the hook. YO and pull through all 9 loops on the hook, ch 1 to close the puff (very important).

Cluster

YO, insert hook into indicated st and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops on the hook. (YO, insert hook in same st and pull up a loop, YO and pull through 2 loops) 3 times, YO and pull through all 5 remaining loops on hook.

Front Post Double Crochet (FPDC)

YO, insert hook from front to back and to front again around the vertical post (upright part) of st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete dc.

Back Post Double Crochet (BPDC)

YO, reaching over the top of the piece and working on the opposite side (right side) of the work, insert hook from right to left around the vertical post of the next st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete dc.

Super Triple Crochet (STC)

YO hook 3 times, insert hook in stitch indicated, YO, draw a loop through, (YO, draw through 2 loops on hook) 4 times.

Front Post Half Double Crochet (FPHDC)

YO, insert hook from front to back and to front again around the vertical post (upright part) of st, YO and draw yarn through, YO and complete hdc.

Popcorn

Work 5 dc in stitch indicated, remove hook from yarn, insert hook in the first dc of the group, pull the dropped loop through and ch 1 to close (very important).

Beginning Cross Stitch (Beg cr st)

Ch 3, working over ch-3 just made, dc in the last stitch of the last round.

Cross Stitch (Cr st)

Skip the next st, dc in the next st, working around the last st made dc in the skipped st.

Pattern Instructions

With H hook and yarn color of your choice:

• Ch 4, join with a sl st to form a ring.
• Round 1 - Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring, join to top of ch 3.

• Round 4 - Ch 3, (*3 dc in next st, dc in next st, (ch 2, skip a st, dc in next st) 3 times*, repeat from *to* 3 times, 3 dc in next st, dc in next st, (ch 2, skip a st, dc in next st) 2 times, ch 2, join with a sl st to the top of ch 3).
• Round 5 - Ch 3, (*FPDC in next st, 3 dc in next st, FPDC in next st, dc in next st, (puff in skip st on the row below, dc in next st) 3 times)* repeat from *to* 3 times, FPDC in next st, 3 dc in next st, FPDC in next st, dc in next st, (puff in skip st on row below, dc in next st) 2 times, puff in skip st on row below, join with a sl st to top of ch 3.
