How to Craft an Enchanting Dreamcatcher Using Crochet

Materials:

• G hook, 4.25 mm
• Size 3 weight cotton yarn, I used Yarn Bee Sugarwheel Cotton Solids in Overcast, Just Turquoise and Mustard Seed
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

st(s) - stitch(es)

hk - hook

ch - chain

sc - single crochet

dc - double crochet

sl st - slip stitch

sp - space

Special Stitches:

Puff Stitch: Yarn over, insert hk in st and pull up a loop, yarn over and insert hook again pulling up another loop, yarn over and insert hk one more time and pull up a loop. Now yarn over and pull through all loops on the hook.

Pattern:

With color 1, make a magic circle and ch 2.

Dc 12 in circle, pull to close.

Round 1: Change color 2, Ch 2, puff in first st, *ch 2, puff in next st,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (12).

Round 2: Change to color 3, Ch 2, puff in ch 2 sp from previous row, ch 1, puff in same sp, *ch 1, puff in next sp, ch 1, puff in same sp,* repeat from * around, sl st to join (24).

Round 3: Change to color 1, ch 1, 2 sc between each puff around, sl st to join (48).

Do not fasten off.

Ch 8, sl st in bottom st where you joined, ch 1, turn, sc 8 sts in circle around the ch 8. Sl st in bottom st again and fasten off.

Weave in all ends.

Fringe:

Cut 5 strands of yarn 12″ long in each color.

Take color 2, fold the strands in half. Find the bottom middle stitch of the dreamcatcher and insert your hook. Pull the middle strands through the loop with your hk, yarn over and pull all strands through.

Count 3 sts to the right and repeat the fringe with color 3.

Count 3 sts to the left and repeat the fringe with color 1.

Trim to 3.5″ or desired length.
