You’ll Need:

50g of grey yarn (50% alpaca wool, 50% sheep wool; 110m/50g);

Odds of white, yellow, pink, coral, green and black yarn;

Double-pointed knitting needles 4;

Crochet hook 3.5.

Size:

20 cm (lap circumference), 20 cm (long).

Used Patterns:

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

2 x 2 rib.

Stitches Control:

20 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

For the right mitten, cast on 40 sts with grey yarn and circle the row. Work around with rib. In 3 cm = 9 rows from the set-up row, continue work with stockinette stitch. In 4 cm = 12 rows from rib, increase 1 st in the next 2nd row for thumb gusset. Then, repeat these increases x 3 times in every 2nd row = 12 sts of thumb gusset. Make 8 rows on all 48 sts. Then, leave 36 sts, make thumb on 12 sts, increase 2 sts in the 1st row for the thumb = 14 sts. After making 4 rows, make the next relief row in the following way: * knit 2 together, 1 yarn over from the previously left 36 sts of stockinette stitch around. In 17 cm from the lower edge, bind off all sts.

Make the left mitten in the same way as the front.

Fastening:

Make 2 single crochets, 1 picot along the edge of the thumb with crochet hook 3.5, circle the row with slip sts. Fasten the upper edge of the mitten due to the scheme with crochet hook 3.5 = 3 rows. 1 pattern repeat is stated on the scheme between arrows. Make 9 pattern repeats in a row. Make embroidery according to the scheme.
