Knit Red-Brick Pullover

You’ll need:

350 (400) 450g of mélange brick-red Multicolor yarn (100% cotton; 140m/50g);

Straight and circular knitting needles 4.

Size: S (M) L.

Used Patterns

Rib: straight and reversed rows: the quantity of sts is multiple 8 + 2 selvage sts. RS rows: 1 selvage st, * 2 purls, 4 knit sts, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *, 1 selvage st;

WS rows: as sts face.

Circle rows: the quantity of sts is multiple 8. * 2 purls, 4 knit sts, 2 purls*; repeat from * to *.

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple 8 + 2 selvage sts. Work due to the scheme, on which RS and partially WS rows are stated. Make unstated WS rows as sts face. Repeat the pattern between selvage sts. Make 1st-14th rows x once, then, repeat 3rd-14th rows.

Stitches control: 19 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 90 (98) 106 sts and make 2,5 cm of rib. Then, work with the main pattern. In 27 cm = 60 rows from rib, cast on extra 12 sts from both sides for sleeves = 114 (122) 130 sts, include the increased sts in the pattern. In 43 cm = 96 rows (45 cm = 100 rows) 47 cm = 104 rows from rib, bind off the central 28 sts for neck-hole and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 1 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. In 47 cm = 104 rows (49 cm = 108 rows) 51 cm = 112 rows from rib, bind off the rest 40 (44) 48 sts of shoulder/sleeve from each side.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but for deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 24 sts in 41 cm = 92 rows (43 cm = 96 rows) 45 cm = 100 rows form rib, then, bind off 1 x 2 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row form inwards.

Assembly

Make shoulder and upper sleeve seams. Cast on 96 sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles and make placket with rib in circle rows. At 2 cm height of placket, bind off sts as they face. Cast on 38 (46) 54 sts along the edges of sleeves and make plackets with rib, start with 1 selvage st, * 4 purls, 4 knit sts*; repeat from * to *, 4 purls, 1 selvage st. At 2 cm height of placket, bind off sts as they face. Make lower sleeves seams, including short sides of plackets and also side seams.
