  • 340 grams of King Cole Beaches yarn
  • 4.50mm crochet hook for main piece and 4.00mm for the border

UK Instructions

Made in multiples of 3 + 2.

Make 158ch loosely, work 1dc into 2nd ch from hook, 1dc into each to end. Turn. (157dc)

2nd Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, * make 2ch loosely, miss 2dc, 1dc into next dc, * rpt from * to * to end. Turn.

3rd Row – 3ch, work * 2tr into next 2ch space, fptr around next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space and dc, work 2tr into 2ch space, 1tr into last dc. Turn.

4th Row – 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of 1ch, * make 2ch loosely, miss 2tr, 1dc into next tr, * rpt from * to * to last 2tr and 3tch, make 2ch, miss 2tr, work 1dc into top of 3ch. Turn.

5th Row – 3ch, work * 2tr into next 2ch space, fptr around next dc, * rpt from * to * to last 2ch space and dc, work 2tr into 2ch space, 1tr into last dc. Turn.

Rpt 4th & 5th Rows until work measures approx 29 inches. Turn.

Repeat 4th Row once.

Change to 4.00mm hook.

Working into row ends, work dc evenly down first side of blanket. Fasten off. Rpt for second side.

Border

Continue with 4.00mm hook, working along the top of the blanket, work 1dc into each dc and 1dc into each 2ch space to end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc down the first side of blanket, 3dc into corner, working along starting chain edge, work * 1dc into each of next 2ch, miss 1ch, * rpt from * to * to end, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc up the second side of blanket, 3dc into corner, 1dc into each dc along the top of the blanket, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc on beginning of row. Turn.

Starting with 1ch, 1dc into the stitch at the base of the 1ch, and working 3dc into each of the three corners, work one more row in dc around blanket to end, 1dc into corner, ss to first dc. Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave and trim off any loose ends of yarn.
