Stich Patterns

Stockinette stitch: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.

Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts.

Main pattern: the quantity of sts is multiple of 4.

Row Instructions

1^st row: * (1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st) in 1 st, 3 purls*; repeat from * to *;

2^nd row: * purl3tog, 3 knit sts*;

3^rd row: * 3 purls, (1 knit st, 1 yarn over, 1 knit st) in 1 st*; repeat from * to *;

4^th row: * 3 knit sts, purl3tog*; repeat from * to *.

Repeat 1^st-4^th rows.

Decreases

Marked decreases along raglan line: 1 selvage st from the right side, 1 knit st, knit2tog; from the left side: slip 1 knit st, 1 knit st, draw it through the slipped st, 1 knit st, 1 selvage st.

Marked decreases along edges of front: from the right side: 1 selvage st, 3 purls, purl2tog/purl3tog;

From the left side: purl2tog/purl3tog, 3 purls, 1 selvage st.

Stitch Control

Main pattern: 17 sts x 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 70 (78) 86 sts and make 5 rows of stockinette stitch. Then, work with the main pattern. In 33 (34) 35 cm from the set-up row, make 1 st from both sides and make marked decrease of 4 x 1 st in every 4^th row from both sides and 9 (10) 12 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 44 (50) 54 sts. In 49 (51) 53 cm from the set-up row, bind off sts.

Left Front

Cast on 50 (54) 58 sts and make 5 rows of stockinette stitch, including 1 selvage st and 4 sts of wrong-side pattern from the left side = placket. In 19 (21) 23 cm from the set-up row, decrease 5 x 2 sts and 12 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from the left side for neck-hole. Make the marked decrease of 7 x 1 st in every 4^th row. At the same time, in 33 (34) 35 cm from the set-up row, make raglan chamfer from the right side, same way as for back = 8 (11) 13 sts. In 49 (51) 53 cm from the set-up row, bind off sts.

Right Front

Make in symmetry to the left front.

Sleeves

Cast on 50 sts and make 5 rows of stockinette stitch. Then, work with main pattern. In 12 (12) 10 rows, increase 1 st from both sides for chamfers and 2 (4) 6 x 1 st in every 10^th (8^th) 6^th row. Include increased sts in the main pattern, making the remaining sts with stockinette stitch = 56 (60) 64 sts. In 24 cm from the set-up row, bind off 10 x 1 st, 4 (5) 6 x 2 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row from both sides for raglan chamfers, applying marked decreases = 16 sts. Knit straight for 4 (5) 6 cm and bind off 8 sts from the left side and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row = 6 sts (back neck-hole placket). Then, knit straight and in 53 (55) 57 cm from the set-up row, bind off sts. Make the right sleeve in symmetry.

Assembly

Make all seams. Sew back neck-hole placket and attach it to the back neck-hole. For loops, make 2 chains of 12 chain sts and attach them under the right front placket. Sew buttons.
