How to Knit a Sweater with Lilac Golf Yarn



You’ll Need:
250 (300) 350g of lilac Golf yarn (100% cotton; 125m/50g);
Knitting needles 3.5.

Used Patterns
Relief Stripes: The quantity of sts is multiple 5 + 3 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated. Make WS rows as they face, yarn overs – as purls.
Start with 1 selvage st, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st. Repeat 1st-8th rows.Wrong-Side Pattern: In RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts;
Stockinette Stitch: In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls.
Crossed Stripes: * 4 rows of wrong-side pattern, 2 rows of stockinette stitch*.
Stitches Control
Relief Stripes: 25 sts x 31.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Crossed Stripes: 20.5 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Back/Front
Cast on 105 (115) 125 sts and work with relief stripes. In 4.5 cm = 14 rows (5.5 cm = 18 rows) 6.5 cm = 22 rows from the set-up row, bind off 1 x 1 st from both sides for better fitting, then, 1 x 1 st in the next 8th row and 3 x 1 st in every 6th row = 95 (105) 115 sts. In 16 cm = 50 rows (17 cm = 54 rows) 18 cm = 58 rows from the set-up row, increase 1 x 1 st from both sides, then, bind off 4 x 1 st in every 4th row, including the increased sts in pattern = 105 (115) 125 sts. In 23 cm = 72 rows (25.5 cm = 80 rows) 28 cm = 88 rows from the set-up row, work with crossed stripes, decrease 27 (29) 31 sts in the 1st row = 78 (86) 94 sts. In 13 cm = 52 rows from the end of relief stripes, bind off all sts.
Assembly
Make side seams in the center of front. For straps, cast on 62 (66) 70 sts and make 4 rows of wrong-side pattern. Bind off sts. Sew straps to front and back at 9 cm distance from side seams.
