Knitting a Stylish Beige Sweater

You’ll Need:

250 (300) 350g of beige (95% cotton, 5% viscose; 125m/50g);

Knitting needles 3 and 4.

Used Patterns

For main patterns A and B: work according to the scheme, with only RS rows stated. Make all sts and yarn overs as purls in WS rows. Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st.

Main Pattern A:

The quantity of sts is multiple 16 + 3 + 2 selvage sts. Repeat 1^st-2^nd rows x 17 times = 34 rows.

Main Pattern B:

The quantity of sts is multiple 16 + 3 + 2 selvage sts at the beginning of work. Make 35^th-50^th rows x once, then, repeat 47^th-50^th rows. After the 45^th row, the quantity of sts is multiple 10 + 3 + 2 selvage sts.

1 x 1 rib.

Stitches Control:

Main Pattern A: 26 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Pattern B: 24 sts x 26.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

1 x 1 rib: 26.5 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Cast on 165 (181) 197 sts with knitting needles 4 and make 1 cm = 1 WS row with knit sts and 2 rows with purls for lower placket. After that, continue work with main pattern A. In 16 cm = 34 rows from lower placket, continue work with main pattern B. In 5 cm = 12 rows from pattern change (after the 46^th row according to the scheme), there are 105 (115) 125 sts on knitting needles. In 27 cm = 72 rows from pattern change, continue work with 1 x 1 rib and knitting needles 3, decrease 20 sts in the 1^st row = 85 (95) 105 sts. For neck-hole, bind off the central 57 (61) 65 sts in 2.5 cm = 8 rows from last pattern change and make straps on outer 14 (17) 20 sts. In 12 cm = 36 rows from the last pattern change, bind off all sts.

Front

Make in the same way as back.

Assembly

Make strap seams. Make side seams from bottom to 38 (36) 34 cm length.
