How to Crochet a Chic Bag with Mille II Lux Yarn


You’ll Need:
300g of lilac (#702) Mille II Lux yarn (48% merino wool, 48% polyacryl, 4% metallic polyester; 55m/50g);
Crochet hooks size 6 and 8;
2 bag handles, each 60 cm long.

30 x 24 cm (without handles).
Used Patterns
Single Crochets
Make the 1st single crochet of the 1st row in the 2nd chain stitch from the crochet hook.
Start every row with 1 chain stitch increase.Decrease 1 Stitch
Draw 1 stitch from 2 neighboring single crochets, yarn over, and make stitches on the crochet hook together.
Double Crochets
Make the 1st double crochet of the 1st row in the 4th chain stitch from the crochet hook. Start every row with 3 chain stitches increase instead of the 1st double crochet, finish with 1 double crochet in the 3rd chain stitch increase.
Stitches Control
12 single crochets x 13 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
5 double crochets x 5 rows = 5 x 9 cm.
Instructions
Front Side, Bottom, and Back Side
Make 36 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase with crochet hook size 6 and work with single crochets = 36 stitches. In 6 cm = 8 rows from the set-up row, mark the beginning from both sides of the side detail. Mark the beginning of the bottom in 18 cm = 24 rows. In 13 cm = 17 rows width of the bottom, mark the beginning of the back side. In 18 cm = 24 rows from the beginning of the back side, mark the beginning of the side (opposite side). Finish back side in 6 cm = 8 rows.
Side Detail
Make 2.
Make 16 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase and work with single crochets = 16 stitches. For chamfers, decrease 1 stitch from both sides in the 5th row from the set-up row, 2 x 1 stitch in every 5th row and 1 x 1 stitch in the next 4th row = 8 stitches. In 18 cm = 24 rows from the set-up row, finish your work.
Lace for Bow
Make 6 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches increase with crochet hook size 6 and work with double crochets = 7 stitches. In 60 cm = 34 rows, finish your work. Make a bow, the front part should be 18 cm. For the belt, make 8 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase with crochet hook size 6 and work with single crochets = 8 stitches. In 8 cm = 10 rows, finish your work.
Assembly
Sew side details between the front and back sides of the back. Fasten the side details with 1 row of slip stitches in 2 threads of yarn with crochet hook size 8. Sew front and back sides together. Sew on the handles. Sew the bow onto the bag.
