You’ll Need:

400g of brown Bahia yarn (50% viscose, 50% polyacryl; 106m/50g);

100g of the same yarn, but in turquoise color;

100g of the same yarn, but in white color;

Knitting needles 4;

Crochet hook 3.5.

Used Patterns

Rhombs Pattern:

Work according to the scheme, on which only RS rows are stated, make WS rows as sts face, yarn overs – as purls.

Start with 1 selvage st and sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, finish with sts after pattern repeat and 1 selvage st.

Rhombs Pattern A:

The quantity of sts is multiple 22 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 1. Make 1st-40th rows once according to the colors order.

Rhombs Pattern B:

The quantity of sts is multiple 12 + 1 + 2 selvage sts. Work according to scheme 2. Repeat 1st-28th rows.

Stockinette Stitch:

In RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;

Stripes Order:

  • 8 brown rows,
  • 4 white rows,
  • 4 brown rows,
  • 6 turquoise rows,
  • 12 brown rows,
  • 4 turquoise rows,
  • 6 white rows,
  • 4 brown rows,
  • 4 turquoise rows,
  • 6 white rows,
  • 4 brown rows = totally, 62 rows.

Stitches Control:

Rhombs pattern A and stockinette stitch: 19 sts x 29.5 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Rhombs pattern B: 22.5 sts x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

½ Bolero:

Make 2.

Cast on 157 sts with brown yarn and make 1 WS row of purls. Don’t take this row into account. Then, work with rhombs pattern A. In 13.5 cm = 40 rows from the set-up row, work with stockinette stitch according to the stripes order and leave all the sts in 21 cm = 62 rows after patterns change.

Sleeves:

Cast on 63 sts and make 1 WS row of purls. Then, work with rhombs pattern B. In 40 cm = 112 rows from the set-up row, bind off all the sts.

Assembly:

Sew the previously left sts of both halves of the bolero with Kitchener stitch. Sew up the sleeves and make sleeve seams. Fasten the edges of the bolero with turquoise yarn and work in the following way: 1 single crochet, * 2 chain sts, 1 single crochet in the next st*; repeat from * to *.

Make a chain of 25 cm long for each of 6 straps and fasten them with 1 row of slip sts. Sew straps, as shown in the photo.
