Materials

  • Peaches and Crème Cotton Yarn By Elmore-Pisgah, Inc.
  • 4 ½ balls Ivory #7
  • 1 ½ balls Tearose #42
  • 1 ball Light Green #55
  • G Hook

Stitches Used

Single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet.

Treble crochet = tb Yo, twice, insert hook in stitch, yo, (draw through, yo, draw through 2 lps,) 3 times.

Instructions for the Square Tissue Cover

Note: The yarn above stated is for the complete set. You can use Red Heart Worsted weight in place of the cotton yarn.

Square Tissue Cover Instructions

Row 1: With Ivory, ch 13, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across row, turn.

Row 2-7: Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc across row, turn. Fasten off after row 7.

Row 8: Working in unworked loops of row 1, reattach Ivory, ch 1, sc in same place, 1 sc in next sc, ch 8, skip 8 sc, 1 sc in last 2 sc, turn.

Row 9-14: Ch 1, 1 sc in each sc across, turn. After row 14, do not turn.

Row 15-16: Ch 1, 1 sc same place, 1 sc in each sc around, placing 2 sc in next corner, join with s/s.

Round 17: Ch 1, working in back loops this round only, sc around, placing 2 sc in each corner, join. (62 sc)

Round 18: Ch 2, yo, insert hook in same place, yo, draw up a lp, yo, insert hook in next sc, yo, draw up a lp, yo, draw through all 5 lps on hook, ch 1, * yo, insert hook in next sc, yo, draw up a lp, yo, insert hook in next sc, draw up a lp, yo, draw through all 5 lps on hook, ch 1 * on hook, repeat from * to * , join.

Round 19: Ch 1, 1 sc in same place, 1 sc in each stitch; ch 1, join.

Rounds 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 30, 32: As row 18.

Rounds 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33: As row 19, fasten off after row 33.

Make flower and sew to side or top of cover.

The Tea Rose: Instructions

Round 1: With Tearose, ch 6 to form ring, ch 1, 10 sc in ring.

Round 2: * Ch 3, sc in next sc, repeat from * around, join with s/s.

Round 3: S/s to first ch 3 space, work * 1 hdc, 2 dc, 1 hdc in ch 3 sp, repeat from * around, join with s/s to first sc of round 2.

Round 4: Working with sc of row 2, * ch 3, sc around next sc of row 2, repeat from *, join with s/s to first ch 3.

Round 5: S/s to first ch 3 of round 4, work 1 hdc, 2 dc, 2 tb, 2 dc, 1 hdc in each ch 3 sp, join with s/s to first sc of round 4.

Round 6: Working with sc of round 4, * ch 4, sc around next sc, repeat from *, join and fasten off Tearose.

Round 7: Attach Light Green to any ch 4 space, work 1 hdc, 2 dc, 3 tb, 2 dc, 1 hdc in each ch 4 sp around, join with s/s, fasten off. Sew to one corner of top of tissue box.
