Increasing and Decreasing Stitches
To Increase at the Beginning of the Row
Ch6 (plus 3 for each additional bl). Dc in the 5th ch from the hook. Continue.
To Increase at the End of the Row
Yo, insert hook in the same st as the last dc. Yo, pull up one loop (this will be the base for the next stitch), yo and continue your dc. Do 3dc for each additional block needed. It is important to hold the base loop as you continue the stitch and begin the next to prevent your dc from being too small.
To Decrease
Sl st across to the first bl to be worked.
Instructions to Start Your Doily
To start, ch22. Dc in the 5th ch from the hook and in each ch across. This equals 6 blocks. Follow the chart, using one color throughout, or as I did, changing colors before and after solid rows. I used the fonts on my computer to make the graph; hopefully, it's easy enough to follow.
