Worsted weight yarn (like Red Heart Supersaver yarn) in 2 colors; Color A (CA) and Color B (CB).

Finish Size
Will fit a 21" inch adult size head, 8" inches heightwise.
Gauge
First 3 rounds of pattern should equal 3" inches.

Note: First part of the pattern is crocheted in a continuous spiral. Mark the first stitch of each round, moving the stitch marker up as you go until noted otherwise.
Directions
Rnd 1: With Color A (CA) ch4, join with slst to 4th chain from hook to form ring, ch1, 6sc in ring. (6sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around. (12sc)
Rnd 3: [1sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] Repeat 6 times. (18sc)
Rnd 4: [1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st] Repeat 6 times. (24sc)
Rnd 5: [1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st] Repeat 6 times. (30sc)
Rnd 6: [1 sc in each of the next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st] Repeat 6 times. (36sc)

Leave stitch marker where it is to mark the first st of that round.
Notes
You will now start joining your rounds with slip stitches (slst).
You will work with both colors of yarn on and off. When not working with one color, you will leave it dropped; do not carry it in your work. You will pick it back up when changing back to the color, so the unused yarn will travel up the wrong side of your work (inside of the hat).
Rnd 17: With Color B (CB) ch1, 1 sc in the same st as slst, 1 sc in each of the next 62 sts, 1 sc in next st, changing back to Color A (CA), join with slst to first sc. (64sc)
