Knitting Project with Pink Merino Wool


You’ll Need:

Double Rib:
Cast on half of the necessary amount of stitches with contrast yarn;
1st row: *1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *;
2nd row: yarn over as knit stitch, slip 1 purl without knitting, yarn in front of work; repeat from * to *;
3rd and all following rows: *1 knit stitch, slip 1 purl, yarn in front of work*; repeat from * to *, take off the contrast yarn.

1st, 5th, 9th, and 13th rows: *8 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, broaching, 1 knit stitch, knit 2 together, 1 yarn over*; repeat from * to *, 8 knit stitches;
2nd and all even rows: purl;
3rd and 11th rows: *9 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, double broaching, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch*; repeat from * to *, 8 knit stitches;
7th row: cross 8 stitches to the right (leave 4 stitches on the auxiliary needle behind work, 4 knit stitches, 4 knit stitches from the auxiliary needle), 1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, double broaching, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch; repeat from * to *, cross 8 stitches to the right;
15th row: *9 knit stitches, 1 yarn over, double broaching, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch, cross 8 stitches to the right, 1 knit stitch, 1 yarn over, double broaching, 1 yarn over, 1 knit stitch*; repeat from * to *, cross 8 stitches to the right;
17th row: repeat from the 1st row.
Stitches Control:
Main pattern: 19 stitches x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions:
Cast on 90 stitches with knitting needles 3.5 and make 72 cm with the main pattern, bind off all the stitches. Cast on the central 60 stitches along one of the short sides and make 9 cm of 1 x 1 rib, doubling the quantity of stitches in the 10th row. Then, make 2 rows of double rib and bind off all stitches with Kitchener’s stitch. Fasten the second short side in the same way. Cast on 209 stitches along one of the long sides and make 30 rows with 1 x 1 rib, doubling the quantity of stitches in the 10th row. Then, make 2 rows of double rib and bind off the stitches with Kitchener’s stitch. Fasten the second long side in the same way. Fold your work in half and sew the lower edges of the short sides on 16 cm, including the plackets made with rib.
