You’ll Need:
2 skeins of Schachenmayr original Northern yarn (100% acrylic; 210m/100g);
Straight and circular knitting needles 5 mm.
Size:
Neck circumference: 53 cm;
Height of the hood: 33 cm.
Stitches Control:
2 x 2 rib: 18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Stockinette stitch: 16 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Hood
Cast on 108 sts and make 3 cm of 2 x 2 rib, starting with WS row in the following way: 1 selvage st, 2 purls, *2 knit sts, 2 purls*; repeat from * to * to the last st, 1 selvage st. Continue work with stockinette stitch to 22.5 cm height from the set-up row and knit the first 54 sts in the next RS row, turn your work, leave the rest sts out of work, knit in reversed direction to the end of the row. Bind off in the beginning of every WS row: 4 x 1 st, 3 x 2 sts, 1 x 4 sts = 34 sts. In 30 cm from the set-up row, bind off the sts.
Make the second half of the hood in symmetry to the first one, binding off the sts in every RS row.
Collar
Cast on 96 sts and circle your work, placing a marker at the beginning of the work and make 20 cm of 2 x 2 rib. Bind off the sts due to the ornament.
Assembly
Sew the upper part of the hood and sew it along the lower edge of the collar.
