You’ll need:

11 skeins of Knit Picks Capra yarn (85% Merino, 15% cashmere; 112m/50g);

Circle knitting needles 4,5;

Auxiliary needle;

Markers.

Size: 33 х 19 cm.

Stitches control: 22 sts х 28 rows = 10 х 10 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 128 sts with temporary method, place marker in the beginning of row, circle in the ring.

Make 5 rows of stockinette stitch (knit sts in every row), place marker due to the following description in the 5th row: 4 knit sts, marker, 20 knit sts, marker, 20 knit sts, marker, 24 knit sts, marker, 20 knit sts, marker, 20 knit sts, marker, knit sts to end of row, retake marker.

1st row: 4 knit sts, retake marker, (transfer 8 sts to the auxiliary needle, yarn in front of or behind work, 8 knit sts, 8 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 4 knit sts, retake purl, 20 knit sts, retake marker (transfer 8 sts to the auxiliary needle, yarn in front of or behind work, 8 knit sts, 8 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 8 knit sts, retake marker, 20 knit sts, retake marker (transfer 8 sts to the auxiliary needle, yarn in front of or behind work, 8 knit sts, 8 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 4 knit sts, retake marker, 20 knit sts;

2nd-10th rows: knit sts;

11th row: 4 knit sts, retake marker, 20 knit sts, retake marker (transfer 8 sts to the auxiliary needle, yarn in front of or behind work, 8 knit sts, 8 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 4 knit sts, retake marker, 24 knit sts, retake marker (transfer 8 sts to the auxiliary needle, yarn in front of or behind work, 8 knit sts, 8 knit sts from the auxiliary needle), 4 knit sts;

12th-20th rows: knit sts.

Repeat 1st-20th rows x 7 times, then, 1st-14th rows once.

Assembly

Take off the temporary cast on and close the seam (sts of temporary cast on + working sts) with needle with “stitch in stitch” seam.

I love the look of the cowl, however, the instructions are very confusing ie: 1st row 'take the purl'. If you could explain what that means it would be appreciated and I could start the project. Again thank you for your help. Jackie
