Crochet hook 5.
Size
S (M) L.
Used Patterns
Shells Pattern
The quantity of stitches is multiple 12 + 1. Work according to Scheme 1, starting with 1 WS row. Begin with stitches before the pattern repeat, follow the pattern repeat, and finish with stitches after the pattern repeat.
Complete the 1st-4th rows once, then repeat the 3rd-4th rows. Make double crochets and single crochets around chain stitches of the previous row, starting from the 2nd row.Fringe of Shells
The quantity of stitches is multiple 12. Work according to Scheme 2 with circular rows on the edges of Pattern 1. Start every circular row with 1 chain stitch instead of the 1st single crochet and stitches before the pattern repeat, follow the pattern repeat, and finish with 1 slip stitch in the chain stitch increase. Complete the 1st-2nd circular rows once, then make double crochets only around the chain stitch of the previous row in the 2nd circular row.
Stitches Control
- Shells Pattern: 20.5 stitches x 8 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
- Fringe of Shells: 20.5 stitches x 2 circular rows = 10 x 3 cm.
Instructions
Back
Make 97 (109) 121 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase and work with shells pattern = 7 (8) 9 pattern repeats + initial and final stitches. In 40 cm = 32 rows from the set-up row, decrease ½ pattern repeat from both sides for armholes. For this, skip stitches at the beginning of the row and make slip stitches at the end of the row = 7 (8) 9 pattern repeats + 1 stitch.
In 56.5 cm = 45 rows (59 cm = 47 rows) 61.5 cm = 40 rows from the set-up row, skip the central 3 pattern repeats (4 pattern repeats) 3 pattern repeats + ½ pattern repeat from both sides and finish the sides separately. Make 3 chain stitches instead of 4 for each arch of chain stitches in the 47th (49th) 51st row from the set-up row and finish with the remaining 2 (2) 2½ pattern repeats for the shoulder at 59 cm = 47 rows (61.5 cm = 49 rows) 64 cm = 51 rows from the set-up row.
Front
Make in the same way as the back, but for a deeper neck-hole, bind off 1 (2) 1 pattern repeats + ½ pattern repeat from both sides in 49 cm = 39 rows (51.5 cm = 41 rows) 54 cm = 43 rows from the set-up row. For smooth rounding, decrease 1 pattern repeat from both sides in the following 8 rows.
Sleeves
Make 49 (61) 73 chain stitches + 1 chain stitch increase for each sleeve and work with shells pattern = 3 (4) 5 pattern repeats + initial and final stitches. For sleeve chamfers, increase 1 pattern repeat from both sides over the following 30 cm = 24 rows in 15 cm = 12 rows from the set-up row = 5 (6) 7 pattern repeats + initial and final stitches. Make 3 chain stitches instead of 4 for every arch of chain stitches in the 41st row from the set-up row and finish your work at 51.5 cm = 41 rows.
Assembly
Make shoulder seams. Make side and sleeve seams. Fasten all edges with 3 cm = 2 circular rows of fringe of shells, making 16 (18) 20 pattern repeats along the lower edge, and 4 (5) 6 pattern repeats on the edges of sleeves. Fasten neck-hole with fringe of shells, dividing base stitches in the 1st circular row to ensure 4 (5) 5 pattern repeats on the back neck-hole and 5 (6) 6 pattern repeats on the front neck-hole.
