Stylish Tunic and Bolero Patterns for Beginners

Tunic
You’ll need:
- 300 (350)g of orange Divino yarn (75% cotton, 25% polyamide; 100m/50g);
- Crochet hook 4.5.
Size: S (M).
Used Patterns
Net pattern (10 sts wide): due to the scheme. Turn the rows according to the scheme. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat, and finish with sts after pattern repeat.
Repeat 2nd-7th rows.
Stitches Control
15 sts x 6 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Front and Back
Make 71 (81) chain sts + 1 chain st increase. After that, work with net pattern. In 15 cm from the set-up row, decrease 4 (5) cm from both sides, matching with pattern design; and in 40 cm from the set-up row, add 2 cm from both sides for the next 11 cm. Crochet straight for 16 cm.
Straps
Make 7 chain sts + 1 chain st increase. Crochet for 34 cm or the needed length of single crochets.
Assembly
Make side seams. Fasten the neck-hole and straps with 1 row of single crochets and 1 row of “shrimp stitch.”
Bolero
You’ll need:
- 350 (400) 450g of apricot color mélange Sabbia yarn (100m/50g);
- Straight knitting needles 6;
- Short circular knitting needles 6.
Size: S (M) L.
Used Patterns
Placket for neck-hole: cast on half of selvage sts on front needle. Make 3 circular rows of stockinette stitch, leave sts in the 4th circular row. Cast on half of selvage sts on the back needle and work in the same way. Then, make 1 circular row of knit sts, followed by 1 front and 1 back sts together. Work with 2 x 2 rib to 10 cm wide and bind off sts loosely.
Stitches Control
17 sts x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Instructions
Make as one-piece cloth. Start at the sleeve. Cast on 38 (42) 46 sts and make 10 cm of 2 x 2 rib between selvage sts. Increase 6 sts in the last row. After that, work with stockinette stitch between selvage sts. For sleeve chamfers, increase 25 (27) 29 x 1 st in every 2nd row from both sides due to the pattern design. In 20 (22) 24 cm from rib, knit 45 (48) 52 cm straight for the central detail. Then, finish the 2nd row in the same way as the 1st sleeve.
Assembly
Cast on 150 (180) 210 sts along the neck-hole and make the placket.
I would love to see the patterns written out to follow. Many of us cannot read these grafs or symbols and cannot make use of the patterns.
