Knitting a Coral Color Sweater

You’ll Need:

400 (450)g of coral color yarn (100% bio-cotton; 120m/50g);

Knitting needles 4 and 4.5;

Circular knitting needles 4.

Size:

S (M).

Used Patterns:

• 1 x 1 rib, knitting needles 4;
• Relief pattern, knitting needles 4.5: the quantity of sts is multiple 22 + 1. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with sts before pattern repeat, pattern repeat.
• Repeat 1^st-28^th rows.
• Stockinette stitch, knitting needles 4.5: in RS row – knit sts, in WS row – purls;
• Wrong-side pattern: in RS row – purls, in WS row – knit sts.

Stitches Control:

15 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back

Cast on 69 (73) sts and make 4.5 cm of 1 x 1 rib between selvage sts for lower placket, starting with 1 WS row. Make all the sts as purls in the last WS row, increase 6 (8) sts = 75 (81) sts. Then, continue work as follows: 1 selvage st, 3 (6) sts of wrong-side pattern, 67 sts of relief pattern, 3 (6) sts of wrong-side pattern, 1 selvage st. In 48.5 cm = 102 rows (46.5 cm = 98 rows) from placket, bind off 1 x 4 sts from both sides for arm-holes = 67 (73) sts. In 66.5 cm = 140 rows from placket, bind off all the sts, central 31 (33) sts form neck-hole, and outer 18 (20) sts from both sides for shoulders.

Front

Make in the same way as the back, but for a deeper neck-hole, bind off the central 21 (23) sts in 59 cm = 124 rows from the placket and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 1 x 3 sts and 2 x 1 st in every 2^nd row. Bind off the rest of 18 (20) sts of each shoulder at the height of the back.

Sleeves

Cast on 35 (39) sts for each sleeve and make 4.5 cm of 1 x 1 rib between selvage sts for the lower placket, starting with 1 WS row. Make all the sts as purls in the last WS row, increase 12 sts = 47 (51) sts. Then, continue work with: 1 selvage st, 0 (2) sts of wrong-side pattern, 45 sts of relief pattern, 0 (2) sts of wrong-side pattern, 1 selvage st. At the same time, for sleeve chamfers, increase 4 x 1 st in every 16^th row from both sides of the placket (3 x 1 st in every 14^th row and 2 x 1 st in every 12^th row) of wrong-side pattern = 55 (61) sts. In 40 cm = 84 rows from the placket, bind off all the sts.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 68 (72) sts along neck-hole with circular knitting needles for placket and work with 1 x 1 rib in circular rows. In 4 cm, bind off all the sts according to the pattern. Sew up the sleeves and make side and sleeve seams.
