Ridge (Wide Rib)

Alternate 5 sts of garter stitch with 3 sts of stockinette stitch.

Colored Motif

Make due to the scheme with stockinette stitch. All the sts, including selvedge sts, are stated on the scheme. Make each element from separate ball. Cross the threads when you change the color of yarn. Make 1^st-16^th rows once.

Stitches Control

Stockinette stitch: 13.5 sts x 19 rows = 10 x 10 cm;

Ridge pattern: 13.5 sts x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Front

Cast on 60; 66 sts with orange yarn and make 1.5 cm of rib. Then, make colored motif, increase 1 st x 5 in every 10^th row from both sides for widening, then 1 st x 6 in every 8^th row.

After 51 cm from rib, bind off the central 18 sts for neck-hole and finish the parts separately. For neck-hole rounding, bind off 2 sts x 2 in every even row and 1 st x 3. At the same time, after 56 cm from rib bind off 5 sts x 1, 4 sts x 5 in every even row, 5 sts x 3, 4 sts x 2. After knitting to 61 cm from rib, bind off all the sts.

Back

Make in the same way as front, but make the colored motif in reflection. At 59 cm from rib, bind off the central 28 sts and finish the sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 2 sts x 1 in every even row. Bind off all the sts at the same height as front.

Assembly

Sew shoulders with mattress stitch. Make side seams, leaving 23; 25 cm for arm-holes from both sides. Fasten the neck-hole with 1 row of “shrimp stitch” with white yarn. Fasten the right arm-hole with purple yarn, left – with red with 1 row of “shrimp stitch.”
