Comprehensive Guide to Knitting with Lana Grossa Yarns - Patterns, Instructions, and Sizes

You’ll Need:

300g of dark-grey (# 13) Lana Grossa Opera yarn (65% cotton, 25% nylon, 5% viscose, 5% sequins; 100m/50g);

100g of light-grey (# 14) Lana Grossa Estivo II (85% cotton, 15% polyamide; 150m/50g);

Straight knitting needles size 8;

Crochet hook size 4.

Size:

160 x 60 cm.

Used Patterns

Pearled and wavy pattern: due to the scheme.

Numbers from the left side indicate WS rows, numbers from the right side indicate RS rows. Start with stitches before the 1st arrow in width, repeat the pattern = 12 stitches between arrows, and finish with stitches after the 2nd arrow. Repeat the 1st-33rd rows once, then repeat the 8th-33rd rows.

Stitches Control:

11 stitches x 26 rows = 10 x 22.5 cm.

Instructions

Cast on 68 stitches with Opera yarn and knitting needles size 8. Make the pearled and wavy pattern according to the scheme, starting with 1 WS row and repeat the pattern between arrows 4 times. Repeat the 8th-33rd rows 6 times after the 33rd row, and bind off the stitches loosely in the 33rd row. In total, this will amount to 160 cm = 189 rows.

Create a fringe with single crochets along the extensional sides using Estivo II yarn and crochet hook size 4. Make single crochets in the 1st row, placing 9 single crochets every 10 cm. In the 2nd row, make 1 single crochet in every single crochet from the previous row as follows: insert the crochet hook into the stitch of the previous row, twist the working yarn around 3 fingers of your left hand, draw the working yarn through the stitch, and continue single crocheting to the end of the row. Pull your fingers from the stitches, and make 1 tight chain stitch to secure the stitch. For the 3rd row, repeat the same process as for the 2nd row.

All the stitches should be placed in front of the work once and behind the work once. Secure the narrow sides in the same manner.
