Knitting Instructions for Stylish Garments



You’ll Need
200; 250; 250g of yarn (55% wool, 33% polyacryl, 12% cashmere; 118m/50g) of dark-grey color (B);
150; 200; 200g of the same yarn, but light-grey color (A);
Circle knitting needles 5 (40 cm long);
Double-pointed knitting needles 4.5.

Used Patterns
- 1 x 1 rib;
- Double-colored patent pattern.
Patterns Order
1st row (RS, set-up row, yarn A): * knit st, slip purl with yarn over*; repeat from * to *;
2nd row (RS, yarn B): replace the sts to the opposite end of needle, knit all the sts, repeat the direction of the 1st row: * slip 1 knit st, purl as in WS row*; repeat from * to *;
3rd row (WS, yarn A): * slip 1 knit st, purl*; repeat from * to *;
4th row (WS, yarn B): replace the sts to the opposite end of needle, knit all the sts, repeat the direction of the 3rd row: * knit st, slip purl*; repeat from * to *;
5th row (RS, yarn A): * knit st, slip purl*; repeat from * to *.
Repeat 2nd-5th rows.
Patent Cable
It is made on 19 sts due to the scheme ornament. The direction of work is stated on the scheme with arrows and colors of yarn. Vertical pattern repeat = 8 rows.
Used Techniques
Patent Edge
For the first and last 3 sts of all the rows, make every knit st with yarn over; for the purl – place yarn in front of work and slip the st with yarn over, as in WS row;
Marked Decreases
Are made only in RS rows with yarn A.
Right Edge: 1 selvedge st, knit 3 tog with right decline (slip 1 knit st (yarn A), knit 2 tog, draw the slipped st through the knit st).
Left Edge: knit 3 tog, 1 selvedge st.
Marked Increases
Are made only in RS rows with yarn A.
Right Edge: 3 sts of patent edge, 1 cross knit st from broaching (yarn B) with yarn A.
Left Edge: 1 cross knit st from broaching (yarn B) with yarn A, 3 sts of patent edge.
Fastening Technique
In the technique of hollow circle row: with yarn B * 2 knit sts, knit 2 tog from 3rd and 4th sts, turn, work in reversed order with purls, turn*; repeat from * to *, bind off the last 3 sts.
Stitches Control
On two-colored patent pattern with knitting needles 4.5: 19 sts x 40 rows = 10 x 10 cm;
Patent cable: 19 sts = 8 cm.

Back
Cast on 73; 81; 89 sts with knitting needles 4.5 and in 2 threads of yarn B with crossed sts. Make 1 WS row with purls.
Divide the sts of placket: 3 sts – patent edge, 67; 75; 83 sts of rib, 3 sts – patent edge.
In 7.5 cm (20 rows) from rib, make the set-up row with double-colored patent pattern. Divide the sts in the following way: 3 sts – patent edge, 2; 4; 6 sts – double-colored patent pattern, 19 sts – patent cable, 25; 29; 33 sts – double-colored patent pattern, 19 sts – patent cable, 2; 4; 6 sts – double-colored patent pattern, 2 sts – patent edge.
Make 1 marked increase in the 1st row from both sides. You should get 75; 83; 91 sts. Repeat the increases in every 4th rows x 7 times, include the increased sts in the pattern. As a result, you should get 89; 97; 105 sts.
Front
Make in the same way, as back.
Assembly
Sew up the shoulders from both sides to the middle of cables, leaving the neck-hole rounding open. Sew the sides.
Lift 66; 70; 74 sts with yarn B and double pointed needles and bind off the sts in 1 row.
