How to Knit a Gorgeous Mohair Sweater with Hood

You’ll Need:

350g; 400g; 450g of 100% mohair yarn;

Circle knitting needles 12 (80 cm long);

Satin ribbon 4 cm wide – 2 m.

S/M; L/XL; XXL/XXXL

Stitches Control:

Main pattern due to the scheme: 8 sts x 9 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Back

Cast on 46; 54; 62 sts and work with the pattern due to the scheme. At 42; 44; 46 cm, cast on 16 sts for each sleeve. You should get 78; 86; 94 sts. Include them in the ornament and continue knitting straight. At 70; 74; 78 sts, bind off the central 8 sts for forming the neck-hole. There are 35; 39; 43 sts left for each shoulder. At 72; 76; 80 cm, bind off the sts from the right side.

Left Front

Cast on 30; 34; 38 sts and knit 42; 44; 46 cm. Cast on 16 sts from one side. You should get 46; 50; 54 sts and include them in the ornament. Knit straight. At 44; 46; 48 cm from the neck-hole, increase 4 sts (1 purl, 1 yarn over, 1 purl, 1 yarn over, 1 purl). You should get 50; 54; 58 sts. Continue work due to the scheme. Repeat the increases at 58; 60; 62 cm. Totally, 54; 58; 62 sts. At 72; 76; 80 cm height, leave the first 19 sts for the hood. Bind off the edging 35; 39; 43 sts.

Right Front

Make in reflection to the left front.

Assembly

Make all the seams: sleeves and shoulders. Sew up the sleeves.

Hood

Take in work the left 19 sts x 2. Cast on 8 sts along the back. Totally, 46 sts. Work with purls from the right side. Next row (RS) – “berry” pattern, at the same time, increase 4 sts in the center of back. Totally, 54 sts. Continue to 45 cm, bind off the sts. Fold the hood in half and sew.

Insert the satin ribbon in the holes of the pattern on the waist.
