How to Knit a Stylish Batwing Sweater



You’ll Need:
5 (6, 7, 8, 8) skeins of pink yarn (65% acryl, 35% mohair; 190m/50g);
Knitting needles 5 and 5.5;
Circle knitting needles 5.
Stitches Control:
18 sts x 22 rows = 10 x 10 cm.
Size:
S (M, L, XL).
Instructions:
Back
Cast on 89 (93, 101, 105) stitches with knitting needles 5 and work with 2 x 2 rib pattern to 9 (9, 10, 10) cm height.
Continue work according to scheme 1.Note: make the 1st row from left to right direction.
Make 4 stitches before pattern repeat, repeat pattern according to the scheme x 21 (22, 24, 25) times, finish with 2 stitches after pattern repeat. You should get 111 (116, 126, 131) stitches.
Repeat 1st-12th rows according to the scheme.
Make decreases according to scheme 2 after the 7th row.
Decrease 1 stitch from both sides in every 3rd row x 35 (37, 37, 40) times. Leave the stitches.
Front
Make in the same way as back.
Batwing Sleeve
Cast on 89 (89, 93, 93) stitches with straight knitting needles 5.5 and work with the main pattern according to scheme 1, starting from the 7th row: 3 stitches before pattern repeat, repeat pattern x 21 (21, 22, 22) times, finish with 2 stitches according to the scheme = 110 (110, 115, 115) stitches.
Continue working 7th-12th rows according to the scheme, make decrease on the 8th row according to scheme 2.
Repeat 1st-12th rows according to scheme 1, at the same time, decrease 1 stitch from each side in every 3rd row x 35 (37, 37, 40) times. Leave the stitches.
Assembly
Make raglan seams. Transfer all the stitches to the common knitting needles and work with 1 x 1 rib, at the same time, decrease 5-4-5-4 stitches above each sleeve. As a result, you should decrease 10 (8, 10, 8) stitches. Continue working with rib for 2.5 cm, after that, bind off the stitches.
