You’ll need:

440 (520)g of grey-blue mélange yarn (70% linen, 30% cotton; 132m/40g);

Straight and circle knitting needles 4.

Size: S-L.

Used Patterns

Rib, straight and reversed rows: the quantity of sts is odd. 1 selvedge st, * 1 purl, 1 knit st*, repeat from * to *, 1 purl, 1 selvedge st. If the quantity of sts is even, repeat the pattern between selvedge sts. Make WS rows due to the ornament.

Circle rows: the quantity of sts is even. * 1 knit st, 1 purl*.

Rib with cables: the quantity of sts is multiple 20 + 13 + 2 selvedge sts. Work due to the scheme, on which both RS and WS rows are stated. Start with 1 selvedge st, pattern repeat, finish with sts before an arrow and 1 selvedge st. Make 1st-8th rows x once, then, repeat 3rd-8th rows. After the 1st row the quantity of sts will be multiple 21 + 14 + 2 selvedge sts.

Stitches control: 26,5 sts x 33 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions

Back

Cast on 135 (155) sts and make 12 cm of rib for the placket. Then, work with rib with cables. There are 142 (163) sts after the 1st row. In 48 cm = 158 rows from the placket, bind off 1 x 2 (3) sts from both sides for shoulder chamfers, then, * 2 x 3 sts and 1 x 2 sts* repeat from * to * x 3 times in every 2nd row, then, 1 x 3 sts in the next 2nd row (13 x 3 sts in every 2nd row). Bind off the rest 68 (79) sts in 56,5 cm = 186 rows from the placket. Leave the central 62 (73) sts for the neck-hole and 3 sts for each shoulder.

Front

Make in the same way, as back, but with deeper neck-hole. For this, in 51,5 cm = 170 rows from the placket, bind off the central 32 (43) sts and finish both sides separately. For smooth rounding, bind off 3 x 4 sts and 3 x 1 st in every 2nd row from inwards. Bind off the last 3 sts of shoulder at the height of back.

Assembly

Make shoulder seams. Cast on 122 (136) along the neck-hole line with circle knitting needles and make 3 cm of rib. Then, bind off the sts due to the ornament. For sleeves, cast on 124 (148) sts on the upper 20 (24) cm and make 12 cm of rib. Then, bind off all the sts due to the ornament. Make side and sleeve seams.
