You’ll Need:

Blue yarn (50% wool, 50% cotton; 120m/50g);

Knitting needles 4 and 4.5;

Circle knitting needles 4.5.

Size:

S (L).

Used Patterns:

Pearled Pattern:

Alternate 1 knit stitch and 1 purl stitch, displacing the ornament by 1 stitch in every new row;

Relief Rhombs Pattern:

Follow the scheme. The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 18 + 4 + 2 selvedge stitches.

Only right-side rows are stated on the scheme; make wrong-side rows following the ornament, with yarn overs as purls.

In width, start with 1 selvedge stitch, then stitches before the pattern repeat, the pattern repeat itself, and finish with stitches after the pattern repeat plus 1 selvedge stitch.

Repeat rows 1st-36th in height.

Rib:

The quantity of stitches is multiplied by 4 + 2 selvedge stitches.

Stockinette Stitch:

1 selvedge stitch, *1 knit stitch, 2 purls, 1 knit stitch*; repeat from * to *, end with 1 selvedge stitch;

Wrong-side: *1 selvedge stitch, 1 knit stitch, 2 purls, 1 knit stitch*; repeat from * to *, end with 1 selvedge stitch;

Stitches Control:

Relief rhombs pattern with knitting needles 4.5: 22.5 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Pearled pattern with knitting needles 4: 20 stitches x 28 rows = 10 x 10 cm.

Instructions:

Back:

Cast on 114 (132) stitches with knitting needles 4 and work with pearled pattern for 1 cm (about 3 rows) between selvedge stitches for the lower placket, starting with a wrong-side row.

Switch to knitting needles 4.5 and continue working with the relief rhombs pattern. At the same time, increase 1 stitch on each side from the lower placket in the 1st row, then increase 1 stitch x 48 in every 2nd row, and 1 stitch x 4 in every 2nd row for side chamfers. Work with the pearled pattern on the increased stitches. You should have 234 (252) stitches.

After knitting 46.5 cm = 130 rows from the lower placket, divide the stitches as follows: 1 selvedge stitch, 60 stitches of the pearled pattern, 112 (130) stitches of the relief rhombs pattern, 60 stitches of the pearled pattern, and 1 selvedge stitch.

After reaching 63 cm = 176 rows (65 cm = 182 rows) from the lower placket, bind off the stitches in one row: the central 50 (58) stitches for the neck-hole.

Front:

Work in the same way as the back, but create a round neck-hole. At 56.5 cm = 158 rows (58.5 cm = 164 rows) from the lower placket, bind off the central 20 (28) stitches and finish each part separately.

To create the neck-hole, bind off 2 stitches x 7 in every 2nd row and 1 stitch x 1. Bind off the remaining 92 (97) stitches for shoulder/sleeve in the wrong-side row. Repeat this process for the second side.

Assembly:

Make sleeve and shoulder seams. For the collar, cast on 120 (136) stitches with circle needles 4.5 along the edge and continue knitting around with the pearled pattern up to a height of 20 cm. Bind off the stitches afterward.

Next, create wide cuffs: cast on 62 (70) stitches and knit 20 cm of rib, then bind off the stitches according to the ornament.

Finally, make side and inner sleeves seams.
